Vacchos is a wine club that wants to promote Greek wine and gastronomy culture in the Nordics.

Wine in Greece has a history of more than 3000 years.  Dionysos, also known as Vacchos, was the god of wine, joy & theater. The religious seremonis to him was called "Dionysia" and were very popular among people. The ancient wine was quiet strong. It was called "Akratos oinos" and used as a medisin or stimulator.  For everyday use they mixed that strong wine with water. And called it "kekramenos oinos". That is where the greek word "krasi" came from.

Greeks were the first to introduce the concept of responsible wine consumption. Drunkenness was considered a great shame in ancient Greece.
